DAY 1: BUDAPEST
This afternoon, embark the vessel from 4 p.m. and settle into your cabin. Evening opens with a Welcome Cocktail, followed by a specially-prepared Welcome Dinner

DAY 2: BUDAPEST – ESZTERGOM
Two available excursions today in Budapest: a morning City Tour with the highlights of this enchanting capital, including Fisherman’s Bastion, Matthias Church, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and views from Buda Castle. This afternoon, travel to Szentendre, an artists’ settlement located in the scenic Danube Bend region, then on to the fascinating town of Esztergom, where you rejoin the ship.
Alternatively, spend the day at leisure, before setting sail in the afternoon.
Departs Budapest 1:30 p.m.

DAY 3: BRATISLAVA – VIENNA
Awake in Bratislava, where you begin with a City Tour of the young Slovakian Republic’s capital. Its gorgeous Old Town is known for its Gothic-Baroque architecture. See St. Martin’s Cathedral and the Grassalkovich Palace and continue up the hill for panoramic views of the city and environs. In the afternoon, choose a walking tour of the restored Old Town, strolling the historic city center to see the Primatial Palace, Main Square, City Hall, Opera House and Maximillian Fountain.
Alternatively, spend the morning at leisure, before setting sail at 11:30 a.m.

Arrive Vienna, later in the afternoon. Enjoy the “Sound of Vienna” concert in the city center.

DAY 4: VIENNA
There is so much to see in Imperial Vienna and we have you covered! Included today are a City Tour and a Guided Tour of Schonbrunn Palace.
The morning City Tour takes you along the famous Ringstrasse, passing the Opera House, Parliament, Court Theater and the stunning City Hall. A guided walk through the city center includes the Hofburg Imperial Palace, Kohl Market and finishes at iconic St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
In the afternoon, travel by coach to magnificent Schonbrunn Palace. Recently named a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, step back in time at this expansive estate where the imperial family spent their summers.

DAY 5: DURNSTEIN – MELK/EMMERSDORF
Start the day with an excursion to Durnstein, one of the best-known wine villages in the Wachau. In the heart of the Upper Danube valley, enjoy breathtaking scenery, traditional architecture and places of historic interest. The guided walking tour takes you through the village center, town walls and Pranger Square with views of the ruined castle. Finish at a local winegrower, where you can sample a selection of outstanding local wines.
Rejoin the ship for lunch as we travel through the Upper Danube Valley for our afternoon stop in Melk. Included is a tour of one of the world’s most famous monasteries, Melk Abbey. Build between 1522 and 1736, Melk is the largest monastery complex of the Austrian Baroque Period. The tour guide will explain its magnificent history.

DAY 6: LINZ – ASCHACH – PASSAU
Linz has much to see and the morning guided walking tour will include its highlights. Stroll the medieval town square with its Renaissance villa, cathedral and Mozarthaus. Try a piece of Linzer Torte in a local bakery. Afterwards, your coach takes you to rejoin the ship in Aschach.  Afternoon sail to Passau and a walking tour upon landing. Enjoy the Old Quarter and learn about Passau’s historic role as the “Three River City.”

DAY 7: REGENSBURG – WELTENBURG
Arrive mid-morning in Regensburg. A walking tour will introduce you to one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Germany. You will feel the remnants of the power and wealth of this city which once controlled the trade route to the Orient, and admire the gothic Regensburg Cathedral.
After lunch, a coach tour takes you to Weltenburg for a visit to its Abbey. Founded by Irish/Scots monks in 620, it is the oldest monastery in Bavaria. After the tour, sample the famous dark beer of Weltenburg, brewed on the abbey grounds.

DAY 8: PASSAU
After breakfast, we bid you farewell.
